Western Border Premiers
The Portland Football Netball Cricket Club finished its 2010 season in fine style by winning three premierships in the Western Border Football Netball League.
Portland’s U 13 side cam up against East Gambier, who the play in the first round of finals and lost in overtime by 2 goals. The Grand final game had many similarities to the earlier final where the lead switched a number a times only it would be Portland who held steady to take out the title of premiers for 2010.
In the U17 grand final Portland met with recent rivals Hamilton in what was a highly skilled physical match. The Portland side took the lead from the beginning and remained in front all game to take the 2010 premiership.
Portland U 18 footballers were also successful in the 2010 season defeating the Hamilton Imperials.
